High School Reunion

High School Reunion

Another successful high school reunion was accomplished today at Bucana Beach Resort. Ever since we graduated high school we really tried our best to have a reunion once a year to preserve our friendship.
Though few of us only attended our reunion, we still manage to make it fun and enjoyable... :)
We eat a lot, played games, and also bought fireworks such as PICOLO though it is prohibited to buy... hehehe :)

It would be happier if many of us attended the reunion ...
but its ok... we also had fun ... :)

this game is very tiring... we keep on running... grRRrrr... :)

And also this game, it keeps us running and jumping ^_^ ...
Exhausting and fun to play
... hehehe

Midnight Snack

Midnight Snack

Ice cream with bread is the best midnight snack for us... :) The other night, my uncle decided to bought us ice cream since me and my brother were still awake.

Ever since we were kids, every time were still awake talking or watching movies late in the evening my uncle would then pull out his wallet and go to the city to buy ice cream and bread. He would then let my father drive the jeepy... :)

Another ice cream and bread for midnight snack!...hehe.. c",)... At this time, my father bought this for us! :) ... because he came home late and he knew that were waiting for him, waiting for his "pasalubong"... :)

Viral encephalitis

Viral encephalitis

This is my cousin Iggy Boy. A year ago, he was diagnosed with viral encephalitis.

Viral encephalitis is inflammation of the brain caused by a virus. Some viral diseases, such as measles and rubella, can also progress to involve inflammation of the brain. Other micro-organisms, such as bacteria, fungi and parasites, are capable of triggering encephalitis, but viruses - particularly the group known as enteroviruses - are the leading cause. Once inside the blood, the viruses migrate to the brain where they start to multiply. The body notices the invasion and mounts an immune system response. This causes the brain to swell. The combination of infection and immune response create the typical symptoms of viral encephalitis. The major risk is permanent brain damage.

We never thought that Iggy Boy would survive the attacks of the virus. He was only 2 yrs old then. We witnessed all his sufferings and pains while he was in the hospital. It breaks our heart when we hear him crying. :( ... but we can do nothing to help ease his pains but to pray. And with the help of our prayers, he was saved and given a chance to live even though his thoughts and memories were all gone because of the damaged done by the virus.

This picture was taken last September 2007 a month before my cousin was hospitalized. At this time, he was experiencing high temperature, headache, vomiting, and seizures which are some of the symptoms of viral encephalitis.

Now Iggy Boy is in good health and recovering fast. He also undergone a lot of therapy hoping that he will be back to normal again... :) And this coming January 4, 2009, he will be celebrating his 4th birthday ... :)

Noche Buena

I together with my family celebrated Noche Buena at my Aunt's house. Noche Buena, often translated as "Good Night", is a Spanish word referring to the night of Christmas Eve. The evening consists of a traditional dinner with family. After we ate our dinner we played games like trip to jerusalem (using bottle & straw), hephep horay, pen & bottle game, guess that song game, videoke challenge, and a lot more...We really had fun, and prices were given to the winners sponsored by my aunts and uncles :)...We also had our exchanging of gifts which was the most awaited part of the evening :)

Dinner with family...

In our family, we had a tradition of exchanging of Christmas Cards and gifts. First, we form a big circle and one person must be in the center. Then while turning around we will sing the traditional song - I love my manita/manito - yes or no... I love my manita/manito - yes or no ... I love my manita/manito - yes or no... i love my manita/manito but i wont tell you... :)

My younger brother singing, and me and my cousin playing snake and ladder while waiting for 12:00 Midnight... :)

Simbang Gabi

Simbang Gabi

SIMBANG GABI or Mass at Dawn is one of the longest and most popular among the Filipino traditions in the country. It is a nine-day novena to the Blessed Mother. The novena begins December 16 as early as 4 in the morning and culminates with the “Misa de Gallo” on Christmas Eve to welcome the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ.
Tomorrow would be the 9th day of simbang gabi. It would also be my 9th day to attend it. If i will be able to wake up early and attend the mass at 4am, i would definitely complete the tradition of the nine-day novena. They say that if you would be able to complete the nine days, your wish/wishes will be granted. Hope my wish would also be granted at His will. :) Merry Christmas to all! :)

MAZE PARK

MAZE PARK

Despite the bad happenings in our city, we still managed to celebrate our friend's birthday... :) Last December 19, 2008, we went at Maze Park.

Maze Park is a perfect place for nature lovers who appreciate the beauty of solace. 11 kilometers away from the city proper with an Olympic-size swimming pool and other pools with varying shapes and sizes, cottages, function hall, restaurant, botanical park and mini zoo...

Another Bomb was recovered in Iligan!

Another Bomb was recovered in Iligan!

Few minutes ago, my mother went to the city to buy gift for her godchild who is celebrating his birthday today. When she arrived at home, she told me that another bomb was recovered in the city. The bomb was hidden in a trash can near Rural Bank and Zoey Cafe, and was detected by a roaming K-9 unit.
When will these terrorists stop?... :(

Twin Bombing in Iligan City

Twin Bombing in Iligan City

Last December 18, 2008 Iligan City experienced again a bombing - a twin bombing! The peacefulness of Iligan City for the last four months was disturbed again. The bombs exploded at the two shopping centers in Iligan City namely Unicity and Jerry's Shoppers World. According to the news, the explosions killed 2 people and injuring an estimated 45.
Our President had the chance to visit the victims because before the bombing happened Her Excellency Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo was scheduled to visit Iligan City for the Inaguration of the Sukang Pinakurat Product. PGMA arrived in Iligan City last December 19, 2008, the day after the bombing. And visited the victims
who are now recuperating at the Gregorio T. Lluch Memorial Hospital (formerly Iligan City Hospital) here.
On the same day the President arrived in Iligan, an improvised bomb was recovered
around 4:45 p.m. near Loy's Pharmacy and Jerry's Shoppers World. The bomb was concealed inside a papaya fruit. Thank God it didn't explode and it was successfully disrupted by the EOD personnel.

Christmas Trees

One of the most popular traditions is having a Christmas tree which associated with the celebration of Christmas . Christmas tree is normally an evergreen coniferous tree that is brought into a home or used in the open, and is decorated with Christmas lights and colorful ornaments. An angel or star is often placed at the top of the tree, representing the Star of Bethlehem or host of angels from the Nativity story.

This is the Christmas Tree of our college - School of Computer Studies (SCS). It is very unique among the other Christmas trees in our university. Since our college is mainly related to computers and electronics. Our governor decided that our Christmas tree would be made up of CDs. Isn't it cute?! :)

JITS Christmas Party

The same night, after I attended the MIDSA Christmas Party I went to our JITS Christmas Party at Iliganon. JITS is also a student organization of MSU-IIT. JITS stands for Junior Information Technology Society, our department's organization.

It was only a simple party for the JITS' officers. We also had that party to treat our selves for the accomplished plans of JITS and also for being the winner of our last Pasundayag '08 in our College.
We really had a great night. Aside from eating pizzas, we also had an exchange gifts :)

MIDSA Christmas Party '08

Last night, MIDSA celebrated their Christmas party at the MSU-IIT gymnasium. MIDSA stands for MSU-IIT DOST Scholars Association. It is a student organization of scholars in MSU-IIT. As a member of this organization, I am so happy that we were gathered last night knowing that MIDSA for the last years was not in good status. We thought that our organization does not exist anymore.
The current officers, as well as the members of MIDSA are trying their very best to revive the organization.
We were challenged by our DSA Director to be more active so that the school would recognize the existence of MIDSA. And prove to them that MIDSA is still alive and kicking! :)

Sister Bonding

I never met my elder sister since June this year... :) So, When I was in Manila, I really spent my whole day with my sister and my aunt. We met at Mall of Asia early morning and ate our breakfast together. After that, we went to Divisoria to buy some "pasalubong". They tour me every where, we rode MRT and LRT. It was my first time to ride with it! hehe... Though my day was very tiring, I still had fun and I will never forget the experience I had in Manila.
