Grilled Foods are Every Where

Grilled Foods are Everywhere

When we were walking along the street near our school I observed that grilled foods are everywhere... BBQ and grilled foods are popular meal choices and it is really an in demand business for now especially near our school knowing that it is very salable for the students especially to those who lives in boarding houses. BBQ and grilled foods are popular meal choices of us.

Literally, grilled foods and BBQ have different meaning. The term "grilling" refers to cooking food over a direct flame or other high-heat source. BBQ, on the other hand, has three distinct differences. One main difference between grilling and BBQ is the heat source. BBQ uses indirect heat or low-level heat to cook foods. But the question is Do Grilled Foods Cause Cancer?

Reports linking charred food to carcinogens and cancer have made some people concerned about grilling and grilled foods. But! these reports are often exaggerated and don't always explain the everyday implications. Although there is some evidence that large amounts of charred food may cause cancer, the evidence is not conclusive at this time, and there are many more questions to be answered. But once thing is apparent - under normal grilling conditions, and with a healthy, well-balanced diet, people eating grilled foods just don't consume the amount of charred food and carcinogens. In fact, there are many other things that are more likely to lead to cancer than eating grilled foods.Such as cigarettes where its smoke is much more harmful.

So fire up that grill and enjoy a safe, healthy meal of your favorite grilled foods! :)

Honest Scrap Award

Honest Scrap Award

Few days ago, my friendGhie left a message in my chat box informing that she awarded me this Honest Scrap Award... :)... I met this friend of mine in this blogging world, and dunno whats in her mind that among all of her friends in her blog list she included me as her seven selected people to pass this award...

Honest Scrap Award Rules:

When accepting this suspicious award, you must write a post bragging about it, including the name of the misguided soul who thinks you deserve such acclaim, and link back to said person so everyone knows he or she is real.

Choose a minimum of 7 blogs that you find brilliant in content or design. Or improvise by including bloggers who have no idea who you are. Show the 7 random victims’ names and links and leave a harassing comment informing them that they were prized with “Honest Weblog.” Well, there’s no prize, but they can keep the nifty icon. List at least ten honest things about yourself. Then, pass it on!

10 Honest Things About Me:

1.) I'm Sensitive
2.) I'm Caring and Loving (hehehe)
3.) I'm faithful
4.) Programming is not my passion
4.) I Love to bake
5.) I have stage fright..huhu :(
6.) I easily cry
7.) I hate back fighter
8.) I love selling - hope to have a business of my own $_$

...and these are the seven lucky selected people that i would like to pass this award :

1.) Bryan
2.) Michelle
3.) Connie
4.) Nancy
5.) Madz
6.) Jonaver
7.) Thesabel

Nice knowing you all :)

Coronation Night of Mr & Ms CED '09

Coronation Night of Mr & Ms CED '09

I came home late this night because i watched the Mr & Ms College of Education '09. Our college governor which is also my friend and classmate since high school invited us to watch it because he was given a free ticket for 5...but we were only 3 to watch it..hehe...actually i dont like to go in that pageant because i'm tired and hungry form our 7:30 class..but i was convinced when he said that it has free snacks..haha!... ^_^

...anyways, the flow of the program was neat and organize... i also like the theme of the pageant - the falling angels, winter wonder land, i love pink craze, and the formal filipiniana attire... :) the audience were enjoying shouting and screaming for their bets...hehe...

We went home when the question and answer portion started 'coz we could no longer take our hunger...the snacks they said were not yet distributed..huhu...and we were so much sleepy and HUNGRY!... despite of that i still enjoy the night... :)

Free Time

I really don't like the schedule in which there is no class in between class schedule... like having a 3:oo to 4:3o class to be followed by 6pm class like we have... its very boring to wait for the next class if you don't have to do anything... hehe...

Anyways, this afternoon we spent our free time in a vacant room... some of my classmates were busy talking, taking pictures... :) and some were busy editing the chat code which i found in the internet...you know what? we (especially me, whose kinda weak in coding :(... huhu...) really had a hard time for this project in which we will make a chat program using C and run it in Linux...hope we could finish it and defend it as soon as possible to be able to comply with our INCs and have a chance to march this graduation :)

compiling, editing , & understanding the nose bleeding code... ^_-

Pink Urinals Going up in Streets of Manila

Pink Urinals Going up in Streets of Manila

Hello everyone!... i just want to share something what i saw when we had a conference in Manila...we were riding in a bus going to Divisoria when i saw this pink thing... at first, i was attracted by its color..haha.. i was really curious what is it... but i was shocked when i saw men inside it standing.. i wonder what they were doing, and then i read the sign"Male Urinal"...hehe...i was so ignorant of it 'coz we don't have any of it in our place...
hmmmm...I also wonder if there is also a Female Urinal...what would it look like! haha! :)

These pink urinals were the projects of Metropolitan Manila Development Authority chairman Bayani Fernando. The MMDA has installed since last 2004 a total of 418 male urinals along the major thoroughfares, the bulk of which are on EDSA, where there are 40. Each costs P37,501.56.

Bayani Fernando pointed out that it is much better to have such a facility The MMDA chief also said transport organizations have been asking him to install urinals in their terminals because they provided relief to drivers and passengers. compared to the sight of males relieving themselves against the walls and electric posts.

Its a nice project... but urinals would surely have a foul smell because many people are using it despite the regular clean-up being done by the MMDAs Landscape Maintenance Group...

Heart Break Poems

I Can't Help but Cry :(

I don’t know why you hurt me like this

Why you make up all these lies

And keep changing your god damn mind

All this pain won’t go away

My heart is breaking everyday

Unable to be put back in any way

It’s killing me inside

To hear you speak, when I’m around

And no matter how hard I try

No matter what I say or do

You will never feel the same again, will you?

Why can’t I let you go?

I sit here all alone

Telling my self I’ll keep on going

Why do I lie to myself, to others?

Pretending I’m alright

Who am I kidding?

I’m lost without you

All though I try

I still can’t deny

You’re the one I cry for

The one I’d die for

You pretend I don’t exist anymore

I pretend I’m happier living like this

I can’t keep hiding these lies

I’m sick and tired of crying

And there’s nothing I can do

If you refuse to even feel the same way I do

The pain can’t stop

The love for you won’t end

The feelings I try so hard to hide

Will always be there following me

Haunting me every night

Your face and smile

Your caring eyes

Stay within my mind

I dream of you

Think about you

Keep wishing you’ll return to me one day soon

Begging for my forgiveness

But the “one” words kill me to say
I know it is only one DREAM, one WISH, one unanswered CRY

i got this poem from poetry-club.com... i was so touched with it...
and i can relate my self to it... :(

Iligan Flash Floods

Flash Floods in Iligan
Its about a week or more that Iligan is experiencing continuous rains which leads to flash floods and land slides...not only Iligan but also some parts of Northern Mindanao like Cagayan de Oro... Many families were affected especially those living near the rivers, sea, and creeks... Many families were homeless and sent to evacuation centers... in Iligan, worst hit communities are La Purisima, Mangga and Manwang all in Barangay Tubod. Other affected barangays are Mahayahay, Upper Hinaplanon, Abuno, Tambacan, and some low areas in Tibanga, Palao, Del Carmen, Ubaldo Laya, Dalipuga, San Miguel, Barinaut, Hinaplanon, Luinab, and Tipanoy...

We live in Brgy. Mahayahay and we are now alert in our place because the river near our barangay almost overflow...they say that if rain will not stop there would be a big chance that the river will overflow and many would suffer from it... huhuhu... :( rain..rain..go away!...you've done so much damage to us :(...

Abandoned Building

See that building behind us?... It is an abandoned building. This picture was taken when we were in Cebu. It is a hotel located beside SM Mall, Cebu. Our professor told us that it was abandoned because the middle floors collapsed and it very difficult to demolished the whole building because of its size. It was really disappointing to know. As we can see the building is very big and nice. The hotel also has a very nice place for business for it is located in the middle of the city and near a mall. And it is very favorable to the visitors to stay in their hotel. How I wish that building will be fixed and operate again... :)

My Key Chain Collections

My Key Chain Collections

I really love collecting key chains. I started collecting it when I was in my first year college... :) It is really my hobby collecting them. These key chains were from my friends and relatives... It is given as gifts, pasalubong, or souvenirs. Most of my collections came from different part of the Philippines :)

A souvenir sandal keychain from Cebu & Tarsier keychain from Bohol

A souvenir shell keychain from Camiguin Island & Strawberry keychain from Baguio

More keychains... :)

Keychains contribute a lot to our society, specially for businessman. Keychains are commonly used to promote businesses. A standard advertising key chain will carry the businesses name and contact information and often a logo. It is small and inexpensive enough to become promotional items for larger national companies that might give them out by the millions.

Keychains are one of the most common souvenir items. They are very inexpensive and small to store both while traveling home and don't take up much room in a home. Keychains can act as a reminder of the trip since they can be carried around during everyday life. They also are gender and age neutral and can appeal to many types of vacation shoppers.

Blogging and Advertising

Blogging and Advertising

When I was in my high school years, I already heard about blogging but I take it for granted thinking that it is a boring idea to blog. I only got interested in blogging when my college friend told me about his experiences in the blogging world. How it benefits him and get paid to post.

Now it make sense to me, people have blogs to express their feelings, insights, ideas, or knowledge to everyone. And not only that! Through blog advertising feature, it financially benefit the blogger or promote the blogger's favorite causes. Now, I realize that I should also have my own blog and make money blogging through it.
With the influence of my friend, I started my own blog. At first, it was boring because my page is very dull and empty. But as the days passed it was very interesting and fun. Many bloggers interact with my writings , they post comments, suggestions, some requested exchange links, and the likes. As I was blog hopping, I read at one's blog about PayingPost.com... I wonder what is it all about, I read her article about blog advertising and got interested on it. I signed up and submitted my blog. Last week, I received an email from PayingPost.com that they had already reviewed my blog and was approved. I'm so happy because this is my first time that I could have an opportunity to get paid to post.

In PayingPost, make money blogging
will not only enjoy your everyday blogging but also can benefit from it. Once you are a member of this you will be expose on blog advertising and blog marketing. And get a chance to write posts on interesting websites, products, companies, and services and they will pay you to do it... to get started sign up for a free blogging account on payingpost.com... It is easy, fun and it pays!

Timoga Spring

Timoga Spring is a spring located along the National Highway, Timoga, Barangay Buru-un, Iligan City, Philippines, around 9 kilometers away from the city proper. It is well-known for icy-cold and crystal-clear springs flow freely to the pools of different sizes. There are around five spring resorts along the highway which is easily accessible by land to all locals and tourists.

Dela Mar Pool

Rain or shine we went at Dela Mar Pool yesterday to celebrate my parent's 24th wedding anniversary and also for the despidida of my younger brother whose going back to Tawi-Tawi with my uncle.
Dela Mar Spring is one of the five spring resorts in timoga.
We chose this resort because it has a wider pool for our rubber boat compare to the other four spring resort.

Struggling to inflate the rubber boat... haha! :)

ready to ride on it... :)

... Dela Mar Kiddy Pool with my brother and cousin ...

This time, struggling to deflate the rubber boat... hihihi :)

Media Noche

Media Noche

Media Noche or midnight meal is a feast that is also supposed to symbolize hopes for a prosperous New Year. People see these as the traditional means to greet the New Year.
Folk beliefs also include encouraging children to jump at the stroke of midnight so that they would grow up tall, displaying circular fruit and wearing clothes with dots and other circular designs to symbolize money, eating twelve grapes at 12 midnight for good luck in the twelve months of the year, and opening windows and doors during the first day of the New Year to let in the good luck.

For the first time my mother made us Chicken Fettucini Carbonara for our media noche instead of the usual spaghetti that she always cook every time we celebrate our bday, Christmas or New Year's Eve :)

Displaying fruits for good luck... :)

Fireworks to drive away bad spirits... ^_^

Celebrating New Year with my family...
lacking one - my sister :(... she's in Manila for her NCLEX review...
We miss her so much :)
